    A lot of people have asked me about Spirals coming out on vinyl so I’m thrilled it’s finally here!

    The physical properties of a vinyl record as an object have always been very important to me. My dad’s collection really influenced me musically growing up and shaped the music I love and write.

    300 hand-numbered, limited edition records will be available on 3rd March, but if you PRE-ORDER a copy now I’ll send it out early so you’ll be the first to get it. I'll sign the record and send it out with a personal note.

    The vinyl record comes with a previously unreleased BONUS track that’s not on the CD. My cover of the iconic song Hurt by Trent Reznor, most famously re-interpreted by Johnny Cash at the end of his life, was recorded during the album studio sessions with producer John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, Indigo Girls).

The title track is one of two songs that encapsulate the album theme most directly. “Spirals” is a song about wandering around inside your head feeling lost in a maze of your own thoughts, but eventually finding a way out of the confusion and anxiety that your mind creates to a truer place of acceptance, joy and hope.

For a bit of music theory trivia, Spirals alternates between 7/4, 6/4, 3/4 and 4/4 throughout the track – in the grand tradition (I hope!) of pop songs with odd time signatures like Money by Pink Floyd, Golden Brown by The Stranglers, 2+2=5 by Radiohead, or Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel.
